Why do I need an MM Greetings account?

MM Greetings is thrilled to bring you this fun photo-sharing application and an MM Greetings account is needed to use this fun service. Any personal information that you provide to MM Greetings is for the purposes of record-keeping only and won't be shared with any other company.

After installing, a window with the word "Updating" appears and then the program stops working. What is happening?

A firewall or antivirus program may block the MM Greetings' installer from reaching the internet to finish loading. If your firewall blocks MM Greetings, change the settings on your firewall or anti-virus software to allow MM Greetings to access the internet.

Is there a version of MM Greetings for the Mac?

Currently, the MM Greetings application is only available for Windows XP. A Mac version of MM Greetings is not yet available.

Can I view MM Greetings creations on a Mac browser?

Mac users can receive and view MM Greetings creations sent by Windows users. You can view the greetings using any browser as long as you have the Adobe® Flash® Player installed. You can download the player from the Adobe site.

Why does my virus protection/spyware protection program give me a security warning about InstallDownloader.exe?

InstallDownloader.exe is not spyware and is not a virus. This is the MM Greetings application. Your virus protection program may have been triggered because the installer needs to communicate to MM Greetings.com to make sure it gets the latest version for you. It is safe to install this executable.

SIGNING IN

How do I create an MM Greetings account?

You don't need to create an account until you are ready to send your first creation. At that point, the MM Greetings program will prompt you to create an account. You will need to provide your name, e-mail address, and a password before your greeting will be sent.

I have created an MM Greetings account. Where do I need to sign in?

To sign in to your MM Greetings account, click on the Sign In button in the upper right-hand corner of the program and use your e-mail address and password to sign in.

SENDING MM Greetings

How do I save and send an MM Greetings creation?

Click Save and create a name for your MM Greetings creation. To view your completed creations, click My Creations. You can choose a saved greeting from your collection, edit any part of it, and when you're satisfied, click Send. You'll then be taken to the Send My Creation screen, where you can type in the e-mail addresses of your recipients, a subject line for the e-mail, and a message.

How do I send a greeting to more than one person?

On the "Send My Creation" screen, in the "To:" field, you can send to multiple recipients by separating their e-mail addresses with a comma or a semi-colon.

I sent an MM Greetings creation to a friend, but it never showed up.

Ask your friend to try looking in their Junk e-mail or Spam folder. Sometimes MM Greetings creations are routed there by mail filters.

How do I purchase an MM Greetings design?

When you're satisfied with your MM Greetings creation, click Send and you will be prompted to enter the e-mail address of your recipient's. The next screen gives you a choice to send the Basic or Premium version of the design

If you opt for the Premium version, you can enter credit card information at that point. Clicking Send is the only way to purchase a design at this time. You can find a collection of all your Basic and Premium designs in the My Designs section.

I live outside of the United States. The purchase screen won't accept my address.

Currently, we only accept credit cards with billing addresses in the United States.

How do I forward a greeting I received to someone else?

There are two ways to share a greeting you've received with someone else: The easiest way is to simply forward the e-mail you received to the other person you think would like to see it. The other option, if you have the greeting open in your internet browser, is to copy and paste the URL for the greeting into a separate e-mail message.

USING MM Greetings

It seems to take a long time to download an MM Greetings design. Why?

The speed of your internet connection will impact the length of time it takes to preview or download some MM Greetings designs, especially slideshows. MM Greetings is designed for a broadband connection. Dial-up connections (using a modem) are substantially slower, so please be patient.

How do I get my photos from the Photo Well into an MM Greetings design?

Simply click on the photo you'd like to use from the MM Greetings Photo Well (on the left hand side of the MM Greetings Program), and drag photo from the Photo Well into the frame in your design. To access additional features, such as rotate and zoom, right-click on the photo.

How do I load my own pictures into MM Greetings?

The first time you use MM Greetings, it will select a sampling of the most recent photos you already have stored in the My Documents > My Pictures folder on your computer. You will see your photos displayed in the Photo Well on the left-hand side of the MM Greetings Program.

To add other photos, click the Get Photos button and browse to where your photos are stored. You can select photos (hold down the Ctrl or Shift key to select multiple photos) and then click on the Open button to add them to the Photo Well. To remove individual photos from the Photo Well, simply click on a photo and press the Delete key. Only use the Remove Photos button if you want to remove all of the photos currently displayed in the Photo Well. (This will not delete them from your computer.)

Can I use international characters in my MM Greetings creations?

Sorry, MM Greetings doesn't support international characters at this time.

My photos look out of focus in MM Greetings, even though they look fine in other applications. What can I do?

Thank you for trying out MM Greetings! Please let us know if you have any suggestions. To answer your question, you are trying to use a low-resolution picture, in the application. If you were to view your picture, in reference, with a "picture viewing program", the image would be displayed at "life size" and will appear clear. The reason why your picture looks blurry in the MM Greetings application is because the program is trying to stretch your picture to fit the frame you are trying to drag it into. This will pixilate your picture and cause it to blur.

You can completely eliminate pixilation simply by using source photos that are much larger in resolution (more detailed ie.higher pixel concentration). Avoid using small photos when possible, especially if they are smaller than the frame of the application you are using.

Where do the photos in my Photo Well come from?

When the MM Greetings application starts, it will automatically load a random sampling of photos from the My Pictures folder in My Documents on your computer. If you would like to add photos from a different location, follow the directions previously mentioned in our FAQ (under 'How do I load my own pictures into MM Greetings?' for adding additional photos.

Why does the installer say InstallDownloader.exe?

MM Greetings is the engine for MM Greetings. When you download the MM Greetings application, you are downloading the MM Greetings engine. The InstallDownloader.exe will install MM Greetings.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

What are the recommended system requirements to run MM Greetings?

If your computer shipped with Windows XP, you should be able to run MM Greetings. In general, it's recommended to have a Pentium 4 processor and at least 256mb RAM. Connection to the internet is required, and the program is optimized for a broadband connection. The program uses your internet browser and Flash8/ActiveX to run. We automatically detect whether you have Flash7 or greater to ensure that the animation will run. At this time, we don't support other versions of Windows or Macintosh users.
